RELATIONSHIP GOALS

Relationship is a distraction to goal-getting, true or false?

It can be a distraction and it also can’t be a distraction. It is a distraction when you and your partner have not defined your life goal. You can’t be in a relationship with someone you intend to marry and you guys don’t have the same life goal – or at least have your life inducted into hers and hers into yours. It is a distraction when you are in a relationship just for the pleasure of it alone. Most people have abused the idea of a relationship and therefore to them, the relationship serves has a distraction.
If you are in a relationship with someone you intend to marry – someone that shares the same core values with you – I tell you the relationship will be more like a fuel to your goal getting. I’m more in support of it than against it. Because I’ve seen from first-hand experience that relationships can serve as a motivation to get you to your destination. God who created us knows he can’t survive alone, why does he then refer to your partner as bone of your bone and flesh of your flesh? People have abused the reason for a relationship, that is why most will tell you it is a distraction. What makes relationship a distraction is that most people don’t set relationship goals, they feel they don’t need it, it is for the spiritual type alone.’ This is why most of the time it ends up hurting them. As you have life goals, you also ought to have relationship goals, define your relationship, have your do’s and don’ts. It is only then your relationship will act has a fuel instead of a distraction.
